I serve as Meet Director of alot of meets every year, but this is the most exciting weekend of the year for me at Super Training Gym. We have a big men’s open meet tomorrow with lots of great lifters. But that is just a warm up for Sunday, the 2nd SPF Women’s Pro Am.
There will be some amazing athletes competing, including Laura Phelps-Sweatt, Amy Weisberger, and Iryna Piatrovich of Belarus. Incidentally, Iryna travelled 35 hours from her home in order to compete with some of the strongest women in the world. Also on the platform will be Dana Shealey, who may be the only woman ever to reach an elite total after a below the knee amputation. She is inspiring to watch.
